MAP Testing

MAP, or Measure of Academic Progress testing is a test that students in Kindergarten through 8th grade take twice annually.  The test is taken on a computer.  Each test starts out with a certain question, and then the subsequent questions are given based on the student's response to the previous question.  In other words, the test changes based on how the student answers the questions.

Fourth grade's MAP testing time begins next week, Monday, September 26th.  We will have the reading test on Monday, the language arts test on Tuesday, the math test on Wednesday, and the science test on Friday.  Our test-taking time is from 10:15-11:15.

How can you help ensure your child's success?  First off, please make sure your child is here for the test!  Don't schedule any appointments for your child next week.  How else can you help?  Make sure your fourth grader is getting a good night's sleep the night before.  Also, have a good breakfast ready for them in the morning.  A student who has a good night's sleep and a good breakfast in his or her stomach is more likely to perform well on the MAP tests.
