We had a wonderful time on our field trip to Paul's Pantry.
The morning started out with a concern of whether or not it would rain. We headed out to the bus stop in front of the Church, only to find that our bus was running about 10 minutes late.
After the #11 Sky Line bus arrived, we all had a seat for our ride to the terminal! What a busy ride it was; each time we stopped, people got on, and nobody got off. Fortunately, nobody had to stand.
Upon being dropped off at the terminal, we headed off on our six-and-a-half block walk to Paul's Pantry. The weather was able to hold out long enough for us to reach the building before little sprinkles started coming down. We met with Jackie, the woman in charge of the field trip groups. We headed across the street to the warehouse, where we would be sorting donated items.
Once Jackie showed us where to put everything, we got right to work. Jonah and Clara helped fill empty shopping carts with all the bagged donations. Leisl and others helped empty the bags, and everyone else started sorting. Who knew there were that many different kinds of canned fruits and vegetables?
After we were all finished, we stepped back to admire our hard work. We got so much done!
The #2 Orange Zippin Line picked us up right outside of Paul's Pantry, and we settled in for a quick ride back to the terminal. Once we arrived, we immediately got on the #11 bus again, and it took us right to school.
A very successful trip, indeed. We were definitely sharing our MAGIC with our community!
