American History Research Paper

The 8th graders are working on an American History Research Paper that will include a Social Studies grade for content and a Language Arts grade for their written work.  We are spending time in English class talking about how to write a paper (what to include, form, organization, conventions, etc.) so the students know the process.  Unlike papers in the past, two parts of the process are optional (notes and draft).  The dates below are important dates.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

4/27 - notes (optional)

5/4 - outline 25 points (mandatory)

5/13 - draft (optional)

5/20 - final paper w/ parent signature (mandatory)
