Middle School Book Club

A message from Mrs. Buchholz:

Welcome to the inaugural year of the St. Matthew MAGIC Book Club!  The book club is an opportunity for students to discover a book, and discuss it with fellow students and teacher in an informal setting.  Our goal is to introduce students to different genres of literature with complex themes and share with them our passion for reading!  All students will be required to choose on of the five books listed below.  At the end of each trimester, we will meet in small, informal groups to discuss the books.  These books are all available at the library, bookstores, or online.  The students DO NOT need to purchase them, or have them on hand for the club meeting. 

Our theme for first trimester is SOCIAL JUSTICE.  Book choices are The Hunger Games, Nothing but the Truth, The Misfits, One Crazy Summer, or The Rock and the River.  Please see the book descriptions on the yellow sheet that was sent home on parent night or contact Mrs. Goldman for more information.
