Good Search / Good Shop

Hello St. Matthew Families,

As a St. Matthew School parent and teacher, I'm always searching for ways to earn money for our school. Years ago I was introduced to Good Search, but I never took advantage of it the way I could and eventually stopped using it. This fall I stumbled on to Good Search again and decided to really learn about it and use it as an opportunity for easy money for St. Matt's. I have found that it is the simplest "fundraiser" I've ever been a part of and I wanted to introduce (or maybe re-introduce) it to you.

Good Search is an on-line search engine that donates a penny to a "cause" every time you search. For example, if I want to find information on catholic education, I type it in like I would using Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. How easy is that?!?! I will admit there are times when I cannot find what I'm looking for with Good Search, so I search "Google" to earn a penny and then do my search from there.

In addition to earning money for searches, you can earn money with Good Shop. Thousands of stores will donate a percentage of profit from your on-line purchases to our school through Good Shop. In preparation for Christmas, I have earned money from Kohls, Old Navy, and The Children's Place. Other stores include Target, Amazon.com, Land's End, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and so many more.

The newest opportunity from Good Search is Good Dine. By adding your profile to Good Dine, you can earn money each time you visit one of their locations. Since this is very new, there are a limited number of choices in our area, but it may grow as more people use it. Currently, there are three restaurants in Green Bay; Chili John's, Fetaz, and Taste of India.

So, what do you need to do? It is so simple. Go to your computer, enter www.goodsearch.com and create a profile by clicking on "Register." Select "St. Matthew Catholic Parish and School" as your cause. Then, take a few extra minutes to make Good Search your homepage and load the Good Shop toolbar to your profile. In doing so, you'll always remember to do your searches and purchases through these avenues.

Since completing my profile, I have personally earned $46.29 since September. It breaks down to $4.81 in searches (I use it at home and school) and $41.48 in shopping. Doing so didn't take me any extra time and it didn't cost me a cent! Mrs. Potts received our check last week (it comes once a year). We look forward to getting a much larger one next year. Please take a few minutes to sign up and be committed to using this program as often as you can.
